Job summary

Quantinuum in Broomfield, CO seeks an Optics Engineer I to assemble, align, test, and integrate high-precision optical subassemblies for quantum computers, supporting R&D and production readiness.

You will perform optical metrology and characterization, maintain engineering documentation, and analyze data to guide design improvements.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 0–2+ years in optics or related field; US person status per contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 0-2+ years in optics, photonics, physics, or related field.
• U.S. Person status required by contract.
• U.S. Government security requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, assemble, align, characterize, and validate high-precision optical subassemblies and optical systems.
• Perform optical characterization and metrology, including measurements of optical power, phase, frequency, polarization, stability, and frequency noise.
• Troubleshoot optical and optoelectronic systems and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and manufacturing readiness.
• Maintain detailed engineering documentation, test reports, and design records in accordance with production standards.
• Collect, analyze, graph, interpret, and present experimental and production data to support engineering decisions and design improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
