Quantinuum in Broomfield, CO is seeking an Optics Engineer I, contractor to assemble, align, and test advanced optical systems used in quantum computers. You will support R&D, prototype builds, and production readiness while ensuring systems meet specs and reliability.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 0–2 years in optics; U.S. person per contract; experience with Zemax/SolidWorks and metrology is valued. Compensation ranges from $80k to $108k per year.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree and 0–2 years in optics/photons/physics or related field.
• Experience with optical metrology, alignment, and characterization is preferred.
• U.S. Person per contractual requirements: citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, assemble, align, characterize, and validate high-precision optical subassemblies and systems.
• Perform optical characterization and metrology of power, phase, frequency, polarization, and noise.
• Troubleshoot optical and optoelectronic systems and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed engineering documentation and test records.
• Collect, analyze, and present experimental and production data for decisions.
