Job summary

IQ Fiber in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Junior NOC Technician to join our fiber network team. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and support IQ Fiber’s network and customer-premises systems, working with Calix and Nokia equipment, GPON and XGS-PON infrastructure, servers, and Wi‑Fi devices.

This role requires weekend shift coverage and after‑hours on-call support. A company vehicle is provided for travel within assigned territories, and you will collaborate with Network Engineers and Customer

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, or HS diploma with 1–2 years in a technical support role.
• Proven experience and a strong desire to learn fiber internet network support.
• Ability to troubleshoot with strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of OSI model, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, DHCP (DORA), TCP/IP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently.
• Willingness to work weekend shifts and participate in after-hours on-call.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical issues via internal and vendor ticketing systems.
• Troubleshoot and support XGS-PON hardware, labs, data centers, and customer equipment.
• Configure and manage firmware updates for on-premises gear and OLTs.
• Assist network engineers with backups, DR operations, upgrades, maintenance.
• Coordinate with Outside Plant to activate cabinets and address fiber issues.
• Manage team accounts onboarding/offboarding.
• Track non-customer tasks on internal project board.
• Execute acceptance test plans and provide feedback.
• Acquire knowledge to configure and manage broadband services.
