Job summary

Jobtailor in Raleigh, NC is seeking an on-site Network Support Specialist to install, configure, and maintain our network infrastructure across CBC sites. You will handle Fortinet firewalls, switches, and wireless gear, while ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for end users.

Daily tasks include monitoring with InterMapper, troubleshooting, and documenting networks. The role requires 2+ years of IP networking, a technical degree, and willingness to travel between CBC sites in the Triangle.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on IP networking experience.
• Associate degree or higher, preferably technical.
• Network+ or CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of switching, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with internet circuits, WAN topologies, and perimeter security.
• Willingness to travel between CBC sites and to work in data centers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site support for network infrastructure across CBC sites.
• Assist with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points configurations.
• Monitor network systems daily and respond to alerts.
• Manage internet circuits and point-to-point connections across divisions.
• Secure networks through proper configuration, hardening, and patching.
• Support end-user connectivity and FortiClient VPN.
• Perform structured cabling and cable labeling in closets and data centers.
• Assist with moves, adds, and changes for network equipment during builds.
• Support server and virtualization tasks as needed.
• Create network diagrams, docs, and support procedures.
