THOR Solutions, LLC is seeking a Junior-Level Naval Architect to support the US Coast Guard’s Ship Design Team in Washington, D.C. This full-time onsite role requires U.S.

citizenship and eligibility for a SECRET security clearance, with travel up to 10%. The ideal candidate will hold an ABET-accredited degree in Naval Architecture or a related marine discipline and possess 0–2 years of progressive naval architecture experience, plus familiarity with shipbuilding programs, DoD/DHS rules, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or another relevant technical, engineering, or marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Zero to two years of progressive experience in Naval Architecture.
• Proficient with common productivity software.
• Strong communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and documentation for ship feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, integration, stability analysis, hydrodynamic and seakeeping properties.
• Evaluate systems and equipment, develop and analyze requirements, perform studies and documentation relating to hull form, stability, weights, structures, and design.
• Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets and boats, perform structural analysis and design using ISO and class society standards.
