Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC seeks a Journeyman-Level Marine Electronics Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. Onsite role with potential telework for highly qualified candidates, focusing on interior communications and machinery control integration.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in shipboard systems, ABET degree, and DoD IAT II certification, with readiness to obtain security clearance. Travel is up to 10% and compensation aligns with DoD guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least three years’ experience developing and integrating shipboard communications and alarm systems.
• Meets DoD IAT Level II baseline certification from the listed options.
• Familiarity with USN/USCG/ABS rules and ship design regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design electric and electronic systems; study power generation and distribution.
• Develop and evaluate reports on C5I systems aboard USCG ships.
• Review and assess impact of new electronics on system performance.
• Adjudicate system design specifications, DFS, RFW, and ECs.

Skills

Strong communication skills
