Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC seeks a Junior-Level Naval Architect to support the US Coast Guard Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. You will assist with feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, and perform stability analyses and related documentation for surface assets.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in naval architecture and familiarity with U.S. federal or commercial ship programs, regulations, corrosion, and ship design rules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or another relevant technical field from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–2 years of progressive Naval Architecture experience.
• Knowledge of USCG/DoD/shipbuilding regulations or standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for feasibility, concept, preliminary and contract design, including stability analysis.
• Evaluate hull form, weights, structures and related design documentation.
• Develop system documentation and ship specifications for surface assets.
