Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a Senior Naval Architect (General) to support the USCG’s Ship Design Team at SFLC in Baltimore, MD. The role requires significant marine structural engineering experience and familiarity with US shipbuilding standards.

Responsibilities include technical assessments, HM&E/auxiliary systems specs, TIM support, and coordination of papers and reports. Travel up to 10% may be required; clearance eligibility is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil (Structural), Mechanical, or Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture, from ABET-accredited university.
• At least 6 years of relevant engineering experience in naval/marine structures and hull design.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assessments of shipbuilder design deliverables.
• Support development of HM&E and Auxiliary systems specifications.
• Support TIMs and capture action items.
• Coordinate creation of technical papers, studies, and reports on emerging issues.
• Interface with USCG SDT and other Technical Authorities.
• Analyze technical reports from third-party design validation sources and make recommendations.
