WSP is initiating a search for an Early Career Mining Engineer in Lakewood, CO. You will support senior staff on open pit and underground rock mechanics, and assist with mine closure projects, field data collection and model development.

The role combines field and office work, requiring strong technical skills, teamwork, and willingness to travel to other offices as needed. Master’s degree and EIT are preferred but not required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• 0–1 year of post-education engineering experience is expected.
• Knowledge of slope stability, seismic design, retaining walls, rock mechanics and related permitting.
• Ability to perform technical computations and interpret plans/specifications.
• Experience with QA/QC and project-related documentation.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel and work across WSP offices as required.

Responsabilidades

• Support senior staff in open pit and underground rock mechanics and mine closure projects.
• Perform field work including data collection, testing, analysis, and calculations.
• Research rock engineering and mine closure problems.
• Coordinate field activities: surveying, drilling, logging, and monitoring.
• Reduce data and analyze investigation results for reporting.
• Prepare 2D and 3D models for assessments.
• Support geotechnical characterization for various mine roles.
• Assist with technical report preparation.
• Balance office and field work as needed.
