WSP is seeking an Early Career Mining Engineer to join our Lakewood, CO office and contribute to Open Pit and Underground mining rock mechanics and mine closure projects. You will support senior engineers, perform field testing, data analysis, and prepare technical reports, while developing hands-on expertise in geotechnical design and permitting processes.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree Civil, Mining or Geological Engineering.
• 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior geotechnical design experience.
• Proficient knowledge of geotechnical engineering including slope stability, seismic engineering, retaining wall design, earth retention, rock mechanics, ground improvement, support of excavation, dewatering, and permitting.

Responsabilidades

• Support senior staff in Open Pit and Underground mining rock mechanics and mine closure projects.
• Perform field work, data collection, testing, analysis, and stability calculations.
• Research rock engineering and mine closure problems and prepare technical reports.
• Engage in field activities like surveying, drilling coordination, core logging/mapping, and construction monitoring.
• Reduce and analyze investigation data and work with 2D/3D models.
• Assist with geotechnical characterization for underground/open pit/mine closure projects.
