Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Mining Engineer for our Creve Coeur, MO office to support Earth & Environment projects. You will perform mining design, modeling and analyses as part of collaborative teams, with a focus on safety and high-quality work.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mining Engineering or related field, 0–1 year of experience, and ability to travel internationally. Master’s degree and Engineer in Training are a plus; strong communication and technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related degree.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a Safety-First focus.
• Conduct a full range of mining engineering functions.
• Perform strategic modeling, design and engineering analyses duties, including interactive mine design and sequencing utilizing various mine modeling software packages.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and technical staff to develop the skills and procedures needed to effectively deliver engineering and consulting assignments.
• Continually apply a high standard of ethical behavior to promote and support WSP’s Core Values and Culture.
• You will work with other WSP offices and clients worldwide.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
