Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Geological Engineer for our Saint Louis, MO office with consideration for Tucson, AZ and Lakewood, CO. You will assist in geotechnical investigations, data compilation, and design support across commercial, industrial, and transportation projects.

Ideal candidates hold a geology-related degree, 0–1 year of post-education experience, and good communication skills. You will work under supervision, travel as needed locally, and contribute to safety-focused project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design concepts for construction.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision and in teams.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and common software/tools.
• Familiarity with discipline-specific design software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, GeoSlope, RocScience, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
• Commitment to workplace safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data and geotechnical information for project development, design, and construction.
• Maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements.
• Assist with geotechnical and civil engineering work related to site conditions, investigations, settlement analysis, soil erosion, and slope stability.
• Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety-focused operating strategies.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and field notebooks/logs.
• Comply with safety guidelines and project procedures.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
