Job summary

Nucor Building Systems Indiana is seeking an Estimator to protect and improve profitability by preparing safe, accurate, and cost-effective quotes for low-rise steel building projects. You will work with the sales, plant, and other departments as an integral team member to deliver compelling proposals.

Responsibilities include creating competitive estimates, informing on cost-saving options, and supporting customers during proposal stages while adhering to schedules and company standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.).
• Strong math and analytical skills are essential.
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Create competitive, accurate estimates for metal building systems in line with company processes.
• Qualify proposals with all project information and assumptions.
• Assist sales by offering economical, value-engineered options that meet project conditions.
• Attend customer meetings at proposal or closing stage to provide guidance.
• Use pricing tables and product knowledge to address all cost aspects of a project.
• Maintain awareness of material costs, erection concerns, and fabrication procedures.
