Job summary

Nucor Buildings Systems – Indiana (NBSIN) is seeking a talented Estimator to develop safe, accurate, and cost-effective quotes for low-rise steel building projects. You will work with all departments, plant, and outside sales as an integral part of the NBSIN team.

Responsibilities include creating competitive estimates, qualifying proposals, and providing value-engineering input during customer meetings. Proficiency with MS Office and CAD concepts is helpful; strong math and analytical skills

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret: Architectural drawings, structural drawings, building specifications, site plans
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc..)
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Nucor will not offer sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Create competitive, accurate and thorough estimates for metal building systems in accordance with company processes, procedures, and practices
• Qualify the proposal with all assumed and supplementary provided information about the project
• Assist the sales efforts by recognizing and implementing economical solutions and alternatives
• Assist in customer meetings to offer value-engineering suggestions
• Utilize computer tools, pricing tables, and knowledge of products to address all costs
• Maintain sensitivity to material costs, erection concerns, and fabrication procedures
• Follow schedules defined by Estimating Supervisor and team
• Assist in development of tools and standards to increase productivity and accuracy
