Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking an Estimator to prepare cost estimates for metal building projects in the United States. You will gather data from drawings and specifications, apply pricing programs, and coordinate with Builders, Sales, CS, and Engineering to finalize quotations.

The role requires strong mathematical skills, the ability to manage multiple workflows, and effective communication. Travel may be required for training; base pay ranges with benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Good mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple workflows simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.
• Ability to review and interpret project specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Exhibit competency of in-house design programs and procedures.
• Blue Beam, Top View, or AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable on the phone with customers and Field Sales.

Responsibilities

• Prepares estimates from information received such as contract drawings, specifications, and addendums using in-house pricing software, supplemental design and pricing programs and information obtained from vendors.
• Identifies exclusions, discrepancies, missing information and obtains clarification and qualifies the quotation based on that information.
• Provides adds, deducts, or alternates as requested to estimates that require special pricing beyond the current capabilities of the pricing software.
• Ensures the use of the most current pricing information when preparing the estimate.
• Builds and maintains Builder/Vendor relationships.
• Communicates with Builders, Sales, Customer Service and Engineering regarding any clarification of scope/design intent that the Estimator was involved in.
• Manages and prioritizes multiple workflows simultaneously.
• Continually improves productivity, accuracy and ability.
• Understand the role in the overall system and be willing to step outside that role.
• Reports to Estimating Manager.
• Travel is not typical, however for training purposes it may be requested.
