Job summary

Eisenhower Medical Center is seeking a qualified coder to ensure accurate medical coding for E/M and simple visits. The role involves reviewing documentation, validating claims, and coordinating with clinic staff to obtain necessary materials for correct billing.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of ICD-10-CM & CPT/HCPCS, CMS guidelines, and a strong command of medical terminology. The position emphasizes accuracy and productivity within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience applying ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Ability to review documentation for accurate coding.
• Knowledge of CMS guidelines and denial/appeals process.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documentation and sequences diagnoses and procedures using current coding guidelines for E/M and simple visit encounters.
• Completes claim information and validates for split or non-split payers.
• Communicates with Coder IIs, department management and clinic staff to obtain needed documentation to ensure correct billing.
• Obtains and maintains a 95% accuracy rate.
• Completes assigned work queue assignments within departmental productivity standards.
