Job summary

Eisenhower Medical Center is seeking a Health Information Management coder to ensure accuracy and compliance across inpatient and outpatient settings, including audits and charge capture. You will serve as a 3M-360 Super-user and a key Epic coder, collaborating with HIM leadership and billing for denials, appeals, and system improvements.

Required: CCS/RHIT/RHIA certification and an associate degree in health information management, with at least two years of coding experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field is required.
• Two years of hospital coding and charge capture experience as a certified coder is required.
• AHIMA CCS/RHIT/RHIA certification is required.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding guidelines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies and resolves questions or concerns.
• Supports revenue cycle initiatives including denials and appeals.
• Performs audits of inpatient and outpatient encounters and assists with queue management.
• Validates diagnosis, procedure or modifier assignment and confirms DRG/APC capture.
• Communicates with vendors and manages Epic work queues and coding updates.
• Reviews documentation for completeness and accuracy; identifies query opportunities.
• Applies editing logic and organizational standards to assess compliance.
• Supports denials management workflows and timely appeals.
• Supports 3M-360 initiatives, analytics, and system enhancements.
• Interacts with leaders, clinical staff, and Billing offices for coding support.
• Coordinates payer communications and auditing activities.
