Job summary

Eisenhower Health seeks a skilled coder/biller to review E/M and simple visit charges, validate service levels, and ensure accurate claim creation. You will enter manual charges, review edits, and support denial management.

Required: high school diploma or GED and CPC-A/CPC/CSC or RHIT within 18 months; 1 year billing experience. Proficiency in MS Office and coding software is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: enrolled in coding certification program or holding an Apprentice Certificate in coding (CPC or CCS).
• 1 year of billing/charge capture coding or related services required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and policies; reports suspected violations.
• Maintains quality of work per current standards.
• Reviews documentation and sequences diagnoses using current coding guidelines for E/M and simple visit encounters.
• Completes claim information and validates for split or non-split payers.
• Communicates with coders, department management and clinic staff to obtain necessary documentation for correct billing.
• Completes assigned work queue within productivity standards.
• Aims for 95% accuracy in coding.
• Maintains knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and coding guidelines for inpatient/outpatient encounters.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
