Job summary

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann company, seeks a Jr mechanical tester to test, troubleshoot, and inspect consumer electronics in an HW R&D lab environment. You will develop test cases, fixtures, and instrumentation for data collection and reporting, collaborating with engineers to deliver timely results.

Ideal candidates have experience with mechanical testing in an R&D setup, NX CAD software, and Google Workspace; ability to follow drawings and verbal instructions is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical testing & inspections on consumer electronics in an R&D lab.
• Experience using mechanical lab & machine shop equipment and tools (laser cutters, band saws, drill presses, Instrons, drop towers, high speed cams, DAQs, power supplies, DMMs).
• Experience setting up tests & instrumentation for data collection & reporting.
• Proficiency with NX CAD SW.
• Proficiency with Google Sheets, Docs, Drive, Meet.
• Ability to read schematics, CAD drawings, rough engineering drawings, or verbal instructions.
• Meticulous and discerning eye for optical measurements.
• Proactive team player with ability to work semi autonomously after training.
• Flexibility to perform tests in multiple environments (electrical, mechanical, thermal).

Responsibilities

• Develop test cases/suites and fixtures for HW evaluations in an R&D lab.
• Test, troubleshoot, and inspect consumer electronics, reporting data clearly to engineers.
• Collaborate with engineers to produce timely, high-quality testing results.
