Job summary

WSP in Denver is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer I to support the design, development, building, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems on infrastructure and construction projects.

Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data from site surveys, blueprints, schematics, and reports; assisting with research, design, and load calculations; preparing concise documentation; and ensuring safety, codes, and quality standards are met. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and mechanical systems.
  • Clear communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and office software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD/CAM software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from surveys, blueprints, schematics, and reports.
  • Support basic mechanical engineering work related to research, site conditions, equipment, and compliance checks.
  • Provide entry-level assistance on design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design and construction issues.
  • Generate accurate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field logs.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company policies; complete assigned training.
  • Travel may be required depending on project needs.
