Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer in Denver. You will assist in the design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure and construction projects.

The role includes research, concept development, installation support, and documentation to meet design and safety standards. You will gain hands-on experience with site conditions, load calculations, and operating strategies while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
  • 0–1 year post-education experience.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts.
  • Knowledge of mechanical codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; professional to engineering audiences.
  • Proficient with technical writing, spreadsheets, and software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with data collection and analysis from site documentation and drawings.
  • Support mechanical engineering work for design, inspections, and research on site conditions.
  • Perform basic engineering functions including load calculations and operating strategies.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
  • Create clear documentation and specifications using electronic systems and logs.
  • Follow safety guidelines and site procedures; complete assigned training.
  • Support project needs and adhere to company policies.
