Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer for our Boston office to join the Property and Buildings Team. Be involved in the design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure and buildings, including HVAC, hydronic, and plumbing components.

You will collect site data, analyze conditions, and generate documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to meet client objectives and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems laws, codes and regulations.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficient with technical writing and standard office software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and CAM software.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites and drawings for project development.
  • Support basic professional mechanical engineering work on design, inspection, and site conditions.
  • Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements, load calculations, and operating strategies.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
  • Create documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
  • Follow safety guidelines and site procedures.
