Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a motivated Jr. Engineering professional/EIT in Mechanical Engineering to join our Buildings team. This role is ideal for a recent mechanical engineering graduate starting a consulting engineering career, working on federal, municipal, and institutional projects across Ontario.

You will collaborate with licensed PEs and technologists, gaining hands-on experience across all project phases. You will support the design of mechanical systems for buildings including offices,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with PEO is preferred.
• 1–2 years of co-op, internship, or entry-level engineering experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD is a plus.
• PSPC Reliability Clearance or ability to obtain clearance is required.
• Knowledge of Canadian Design Standards and Codes.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to transportation for project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and analysis of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
• Support preparation of calculations, reports, and design documentation.
• Assist in development of drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform load calculations and equipment sizing under supervision.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams for integrated designs.
• Support compliance with NBCC, OBC, NECB, ASHRAE, CSA.
