Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support project teams on power, process, healthcare, and industrial facilities. Under supervision, you will assist with mechanical design, drawings, and analyses throughout design and construction phases.

You will apply basic engineering principles, contribute to CAD work, and support client presentations while developing professionally in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• ABET accreditation preferred and recognized engineering program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in problem solving.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for various facilities including power, healthcare, and industrial sectors.
• Assist in designing mechanical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply basic engineering concepts and procedures in mechanical services.
• Assist with data collection and project documentation as required.
• Update drawings in CAD software under supervision of senior engineers.
• Assist with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Help with field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
