Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join project teams delivering world-class designs for power, process, healthcare, and government facilities. You will work from concept through design, adapting plans to budget, codes, and client needs.

You will modify drawings, design components, and research data while collaborating with project managers. Field inspections and CAD updates are routine parts of the role, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree with relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Familiarity with design standards, codes and procedures.
• FE exam (for some candidates) and EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities.
• Design mechanical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply engineering fundamentals to projects and codes.
• Research and compile project data for managers.
• Update CAD drawings to reflect corrections.
• Prepare information for client presentations and contract administration.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements or calculations.
• Adhere to policies and standards.
