Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to design and coordinate mechanical building systems in a permanent, office-based role in San Francisco. You will develop systems from concept through construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve energy efficiency and comfort.

The position targets candidates with 2+ years of relevant building systems experience and a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related field. Office-based with strong mentorship and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering for building systems.
• Experience with BIM and Revit.
• Knowledge of HVAC fundamentals and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical building systems designs under guidance of senior engineers, focusing on HVAC performance, reliability, and constructability.
• Create and update BIM models, Revit layouts, engineering drawings, schedules, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform engineering calculations, including heating and cooling loads, ventilation requirements, airflow, pressure drops, and preliminary equipment sizing.
• Support design coordination with architectural, structural, electrical, and other project teams to identify clashes and resolve interfaces.
