Job summary

Herc Rentals in Sulphur, LA is seeking an entry-level Mechanic C to begin a career in fleet maintenance. You'll learn the branch, region, and national procedures while performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs to keep equipment on the rental ready line.

Under supervision, you will diagnose minor issues, perform oil changes, tire and battery work, log service reports, and grow toward higher-level mechanics with hands-on training and safety at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Accredited education in heavy equipment repair or 1 year of experience in lieu of
• Must own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs

Responsibilities

• Follow a consistent schedule of preventative maintenance for all Herc fleet
• Operate and test equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs under supervision
• Diagnose small tools and light rental equipment with assistance
• Carry out major repairs using diagnostic tools and measuring instruments under supervision
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery work, and hose repairs
• Enter work orders and order parts via fleet management system
• Assist in reconditioning and replacing parts of heavy equipment
• Learn warranty coverage distinctions
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and produce service reports
