Job summary

The McHenry Management Group (TMMG) is seeking a motivated Junior Engineer to support the Engineering Design Team within our Maritime Services group. This developmental role offers broad exposure to shipboard systems and real-world project execution, working with senior engineers, designers, and shipyard teams across vessel repair, modernization, and construction efforts.

You will assist in developing work items, technical documentation, and cost estimates while learning to evaluate shipboard

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to learn and develop within shipbuilding and marine engineering.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support ship checks and onboard assessments to verify vessel configuration and identify repairs.
• Develop work items, technical documentation, repair specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with evaluations of shipboard electrical, structural, piping, and mechanical systems.
• Assist with AutoCAD drawings per standards.
• Participate in shipyard inspections and waterfront engineering activities.
• Support operating procedures, maintenance instructions, memos, and test docs.
• Review maintenance histories and equipment records from CMMS.
• Coordinate with team, vendors, and customers to support project execution.
• Identify new equipment and engineering solutions to meet customer needs.
• Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and technical tracking.
• Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving in fast-paced maritime environment.
• Support additional engineering and project tasks as assigned.
