Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking an entry-level Manufacturing Production Process Engineer I for the Byesville, OH site. The role is hands-on, turning manufacturing concepts into practical production solutions, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to implement improvements.

The position offers a starting salary between $71,000 and $91,000 USD, plus bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic schematics (as described).
• Foundational knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, controls, and safety practices.
• Ability to collect and analyze process data and develop practical technical solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to organize priorities and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, and implement new or revised manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
• Analyze production workflows and develop layouts to improve material flow and efficiency.
• Develop technical requirements and specs for tools, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
• Support installation, commissioning, validation, and handoff of new equipment and processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and process issues with cross‑functional teams.
• Apply root-cause analysis to resolve recurring production problems.
• Plan and conduct trials and data collection to confirm process capability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and project records.
• Coordinate work by vendors and service providers, monitoring safety, cost and schedule.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Purchasing, and Finance to meet plant objectives.
