Job description

A distinguished law firm based in Boston, MA, is seeking a highly motivated Junior Litigation Associate to join its litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-stakes civil litigation matters involving general liability, construction disputes, and professional design claims. The ideal candidate will work closely with experienced litigators in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while gaining hands-on experience across all phases of litigation.

Duties:

1. Support senior attorneys with managing active litigation dockets from initial filing through trial
2. Communicate directly with clients and insurance representatives
3. Participate in the preparation of witnesses for depositions and courtroom appearances
4. Engage and collaborate with expert consultants
5. Draft, review, and respond to pleadings, discovery requests, and other filings
6. Conduct in-depth legal research and draft legal memoranda
7. Prepare and argue motions in court, including those governed by MA Superior Court Rule 9A
8. Contribute to case strategy, settlement negotiations, and mediation sessions
9. Evaluate liability and damages exposure with attention to detail and legal accuracy
10. Assist with trial preparation, logistics, and in-court support
11. Maintain timely and precise billing records

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 3 years’ litigation experience focused on general liability, construction, or design-related disputes
2. Active license to practice law in Massachusetts; licensure in other New England jurisdictions is a plus
3. Prior experience handling written discovery and motion practice in Massachusetts courts
4. Demonstrated ability to manage assignments independently
5. Strong organizational habits and attention to deadlines

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

1. Active Bar membership in Massachusetts (Required)
2. Admission in additional New England states (Preferred)
