Job summary

BOOST LLC, partnered with Don Selvy Enterprises (DSE), seeks a Junior IT Specialist to support DoD IT operations at NAS Patuxent River, MD. You will assist with day-to-day IT support, documentation, hardware/software configuration, and security compliance activities to align with DoD Cybersecurity requirements.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates or early-career professionals with hands-on IT experience, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure AD, and foundational cybersecurity

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1–2 years IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration experience.
• Familiar with DoD cybersecurity basics (CMMC/NIST 800-171).
• Experience with Windows administration, Office 365, and AD environments.
• Knowledge of security tools and IT audit readiness is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and 2 IT support for Windows laptops, M365, and basic network issues.
• Assist with user accounts, device configuration, and troubleshooting across Intune, Azure AD, and M365 Admin Center.
• Maintain IT asset inventories, patch logs, and change records.
• Support implementation of CMMC Level 2 practices and security documentation.
• Collaborate to ensure systems remain compliant with DoD cybersecurity requirements.

The Role

The Junior IT Specialist will join DSEs team supporting IT operations and compliance initiatives under Department of Defense DoD contracts at NAS Patuxent River Lexington Park Maryland This role is well suited to a recent graduate or early career professional with hands on technical skills and an introductory understanding of Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification CMMC principles Youll assist with day to day IT support documentation hardware and software configuration and security compliance activities helping keep DSEs systems aligned with DoD cybersecurity requirements

Salary & Benefits

• Starting salary range 50000 to 60000 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and 2 technical support for Windows based laptops Microsoft 365 and basic network connectivity issues
• Assist with user account management device configuration and troubleshooting across Microsoft Intune Azure AD and the M365 Admin Center
• Maintain IT asset inventories patch logs and change records
• Support implementation of CMMC Level 2 practices including access control incident response preparation and secure configuration management
• Help update and maintain security documentation such as System Security Plans POA&Ms and hardware and software inventories
• Collaborate with management and team members to ensure all systems remain compliant with DoD cybersecurity requirements

Required Education

• Associate degree or higher in Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field or equivalent hands on experience

Required Experience

• One to two years of experience in IT support helpdesk or systems administration
• Familiar with CMMC Level 1 or NIST 800 171 requirements and general DoD cybersecurity principles
• Basic understanding of Windows 1011 administration Office 365 and Active Directory environments
• Knowledge of common security tools and antivirus software such as Comodo or Defender
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and recordkeeping
• Experience supporting small business environments or government contractors is a plus
• Basic exposure to compliance documentation or IT audit readiness is a plus
• CompTIA certifications A Network or Security preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Intune SharePoint or Azure is a plus
• Must work onsite 100 of the time at NAS Patuxent River Lexington Park Maryland
• US citizenship required due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements
