Job summary

DSE Inc in Maryland is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide technical and engineering support for the Air Combat Electronics program office at NAVAIR PMA 209. The role requires experience with software defined radios and embedded COMSEC, anti-jam, and SATCOM waveforms.

Candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Math/Physics/CS/Engineering and a minimum of 6 years in an engineering role, plus the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, analyze, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Ensure designs meet operational requirements and performance specifications.
  • Lead systems integration, testing, and validation for military platforms.
  • Prepare technical reports, change proposals, and feasibility studies.

The Role

The Electrical Engineer provides technical and engineering support services for the Air Combat Electronics program office at NAVAIR PMA 209

Candidates should have experience with software defined radios including Embedded COMSEC anti jam and SATCOM waveforms

Work products include review of ECPs and CDRL documents drafting technical white papers and platform integration plans and testing ARC 210 radio capabilities provided through Collins radio and RCU software releases

Responsibilities

Engineering and Development Investigate analyze design develop implement test and evaluate military weapons systems using advanced engineering principles and toolsEnsure designs meet operational requirements addressing both functional and performance specificationsEvaluate and select appropriate technologies and methodologies for optimal system integration and performanceTechnical Documentation and Analysis Review and prepare detailed engineering and technical analyses change proposals feasibility studies and other technical documentationDevelop technical reports that provide recommendations for design modifications system improvements or resource allocationsSystems Integration and Testing Perform critical systems integration to ensure seamless interaction between components and subsystemsLead quality assurance testing troubleshooting and validation to maintain compliance with performance standardsRecommend and prepare inputs for test plans procedures and acceptance criteria ensuring thorough evaluation of system functionalityProcess Improvement Develop and standardize processes by writing detailed procedures work instructions and design practice criteriaIdentify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and accuracyPerformance Evaluation Evaluate technical specifications ensuring alignment with stringent military standards and performance requirementsAnalyze performance metrics to identify risks resolve technical challenges and enhance system reliability and functionality

Required Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Math Physics Computer Science or an Engineering discipline; a four year ABET accredited engineering degree is preferred

Required Experience

Minimum of 6 years of experience in an engineering roleMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements

Preferred Experience

3 years of experience with Navy Test and Evaluation planning and execution3 or more years of experience in Electronic Countermeasure Systems
