Job summary

The University of Maryland, College Park, Division of Information Technology (DIT) is seeking a Network Technician to implement, monitor, and support the campus wired and wireless networks. You will assist faculty, staff, and students with edge connectivity, perform jack activations, VPN and DNS troubleshooting, and contribute to network infrastructure deployment and replacement.

Duties may include evening or weekend work.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: 0 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure operations, maintenance, and administration; substitutions allowed as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and support the University's wired and wireless networks.
• Provide support to faculty, staff, and students for edge network connectivity and related services (DHCP/DNS, VPN, jack activations).
• Assist with network infrastructure deployment, replacement, and troubleshooting across campus.
• Support NOC operations and use network management systems as part of daily duties.
