Junior IT Consultant / IT Helpdesk Support

An established business for 20 years, Vicinitech Inc. is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in IT consulting services utilizing cloud and premise-based setups for small and mid-size businesses. Our goal is to emphasize quality of service while providing clients with complete managed services, networking design and support, LAN/WAN multi-office setups, computer service, modern technology integration, and internet capabilities.

We seek a responsible, energetic, self‑motivated individual with an entrepreneurial attitude capable of supporting Windows‑based networks in small to medium‑sized business environments.

Responsibilities

• Possess strong analytical and technical skills, task management, helpdesk ticketing system proficiency, and detailed weekly time reporting.
• Maintain excellent verbal and written communication while working with clients onsite and remotely via phone and email, ensuring professionalism and client satisfaction.
• Demonstrate eagerness to learn new skills for growth within the firm.
• Work remotely to maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot systems during and after work hours, requiring high‑speed internet.

Technical Skills

• Experience troubleshooting Windows PCs, Apple Macs, Microsoft 365, printers, wireless setups, tablets, mobile phones, and related hardware/software in small business environments.
• Knowledge of data and email security, intrusion detection, level 1 data recovery, and containment of malware or spyware outbreaks.

Qualifications

• Certification in a technical or computer‑related field (full or partial).
• 3–5 years of PC and general IT experience, preferably with small‑business consulting.

Travel Requirement

Approximately 30–40% local travel to client sites in northern Illinois suburbs and coverage in Wisconsin, Chicago Loop, and surrounding metro areas. Must have reliable transportation and reside within 50 miles of corporate office.

Compensation and Hours

Competitive compensation with benefits. After‑hours and weekend project/helpdesk work as needed.
