Role Description:
The individual works with the Design and Sales staff to manage space planning and design efforts for Franklin. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting design or sales staff with gathering information to discover the needs and priorities of prospective clients and assessing current space and function. Supporting proposal and support material preparation.
- Gathering information regarding functional requirements and building characteristics to develop space plans, design furniture layouts, and recommend products and surface materials such as fabrics, wall finishes, window treatments, floor coverings, and lighting solutions that meet client needs.
- Drafting perimeter plans, elevations, perspectives, and installation drawings using manual and/or computer skills, ensuring accuracy for client presentations, proposals, and order processing.
- Communicating clearly with clients, contractors, sales, project management, and installation staff to facilitate smooth, timely project execution.
- Supporting design team activities focused on sales efforts, skill development, and deliverable quality.
- Representing the company professionally with clients and third-party contacts, maintaining high responsiveness and follow-up.
- Developing knowledge of products, clients, technology, design techniques, and architectural compliance issues impacting furniture selection and placement.
Job Specifications:
Education and Training: B.A./B.S. in Interior Design or Architecture.
Work Experience: Entry-level with practical experience through an internship or prior commercial work preferred.
