Job summary
W-Industries is seeking a Junior Industrial Cyber Security Engineer in Houston to support and implement cybersecurity across industrial and control-system projects. You will work with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements, safety standards, and regulatory codes.
The role involves developing and testing tooling, analyzing network information, and collaborating on design reviews. A background in CS/CE/EE with interest in OT security is preferred.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years hands-on experience in software development, networking, or cybersecurity.
- Python programming for tooling and automation.
- Networking fundamentals and ability to analyze traffic.
- Linux operating systems knowledge.
- Core cybersecurity concepts understanding.
- Scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems and protocols.
Responsibilities
- Support development, testing, and improvement of software/tools for cybersecurity projects.
- Contribute hands-on to engineering activities per project strategy.
- Analyze technical and network information to support decisions.
- Collaborate with leaders and project managers on design and review.
- Participate in design and code reviews with technical input.
- Support testing and commissioning to ensure operation as intended.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and security standards.
- Document work clearly and accurately.
