W-Industries is seeking a Junior Industrial Cyber Security Engineer to support, develop, and guide cybersecurity across industrial and control-system projects. You will work with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements, safety standards, and regulatory codes.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, testing, and tooling for OT cybersecurity, with opportunities to collaborate on design, reviews, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical discipline.
• Coursework or concentration in cybersecurity, networking, or control systems.
• 0–2 years of experience in software development, networking, or cybersecurity (including academic projects, internships or CTF).

Description

The Junior Industrial Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for supporting, developing, and providing technical guidance for cybersecurity across industrial and control-system projects. This role ensures that solutions, technical specifications, and deliverables meet client requirements, safety standards, and regulatory codes. This position collaborates closely with the engineering team, project managers, technical teams and our other engineering departments to provide technical support and ensure successful project execution from start to finish.

Requirements

• Support the development, testing, and improvement of software and tooling used across our cybersecurity projects.
• Contribute hands-on to engineering activities, in accordance with the strategy for each project.
• Analyse technical and network information to support engineering and security decisions.
• Collaborate with technical leaders and project managers on design, review, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in design and code review meetings, providing technical input.
• Support testing and commissioning, ensuring solutions operate as intended.
• Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and security standards.
• Document work clearly and accurately.

Required Skills and Competencies

• 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in software development, networking, or cybersecurity. Exposure to industrial control systems or OT environments. (PREFERRED)
• Python programming for building tools and automation.
• Networking fundamentals and the ability to analyze network traffic and packet captures.
• Working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts.
• Scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and their protocols.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Attention to accuracy — verifies findings and reports honestly.
• Good written and verbal communication for working with technical teams.

Required Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline. (REQUIRED)
• Coursework or concentration in cybersecurity, networking, or control systems. A related master's degree is a plus but not required. (PREFFERED)
• A Minimum of 0 to 2 years of experience in software development, networking, or cybersecurity, including academic projects, internships or CTF experience.
• Entry-level candidates, current students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply; internship and co-op opportunities are available.
• cybersecurity certifications.
