Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking a Junior Estimator to support front-end estimating for commercial and industrial HVAC projects. The role involves bid intake, document organization, quantity takeoffs, and proposal coordination, working with senior estimators and operations leadership.

This fast-paced role offers growth in mechanical construction estimating, with advancement paths toward Estimator I and Senior/Lead roles.

Qualifications

0–2 years in construction, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical or estimating.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to read construction drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity with bid platforms (BuildingConnected, PlanHub, Procore).

Responsibilities

Bid Intake & Organization: Source and track project opportunities; review bid docs; create digital bid folders; enter projects in bid tracking systems.
Estimating Support & Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs; review drawings/specs; assist with vendor/pricing; compile data into templates.
Proposal Coordination: Assemble proposals; coordinate internal review; submit bids; maintain documentation.
Bid Tracking & Follow-Up: Track bid status; follow up on proposals; maintain estimating records.
Project Handoff: Compile awarded project docs; coordinate handoff to project management; ensure continuity from estimating to operations.
