Job summary

Linxon is seeking a Junior SME, Primary Engineerin g to join our Raleigh team for high‑voltage substation projects across the Americas. You will assist in design, reviews, and problem‑solving with engineers, clients, and contractors to deliver safe, reliable solutions.

You will work on 11kV–765kV layouts, develop BOMs and drawings, and ensure compliance with utility standards while growing technical expertise through mentorship and hands‑on project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in substation design, primary engineering or HV projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit or similar software; BIM experience is a plus.
• Familiar with IEEE, NEC, NESC and utility standards.
• PE licensed or eligible for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Support design and development of HV substation layouts from 11kV to 765kV.
• Collaborate with Protection, Civil, Structural, BIM and Project Engineering teams.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities for alignment across disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments and risk evaluations.
• Assist planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering deliverables.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve inquiries.
• Prepare drawings, BOMs, calculations, specifications and reports.
• Ensure deliverables comply with standards and QA/QC requirements.
• Contribute to GIS applications and HV cable system design.
• Support renewable energy, transmission and grid modernization projects.
