Job summary

Studs, Inc. is seeking a Junior HR Generalist in New York City to support People operations. The role focuses on responding to employee questions, coordinating onboarding/offboarding, and maintaining records across multiple locations, including HQ in NYC.

You will work hands-on with established policies, learn when to escalate, and contribute to a fast-growing retail team. This is an onsite role with a salary range of $80,000–$90,000.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, HR administration, or a similar role.
• Experience supporting onboarding, employee changes, records management, benefits administration, or compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with core HR practices and multi-state requirements.
• Hands-on experience with an HRIS, with ADP preferred.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to provide clear, professional responses to employees and managers.
• Complete discretion when handling confidential employee information.

Responsibilities

• Own the People Service Center queue as a first point of contact for employees and managers.
• Provide clear, policy-based answers and templates to ensure consistent responses.
• Support studio and regional managers with onboarding, changes, attendance, and separations.
• Identify sensitive matters and route them to the appropriate owner with documentation.
• Maintain help center articles, response templates, and resources for consistency.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding for studio and HQ employees; process data changes in ADP.
• Partner with Payroll to confirm hires and changes before payroll cutoffs; maintain files and records.
• Support benefits administration with our benefits partner and assist with enrollments.
• Maintain trackers and system records; update forms and intranet content as processes evolve.
• Coordinate administrative execution of recurring programs and pull routine headcount/ turnover reports.
