Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in New York, NY is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to support licensed apparel development across sleepwear, loungewear, and intimate lines. You will craft original graphics, builds tech packs, and collaborate with design, merchandising, and production teams.

The ideal candidate has strong Illustrator skills, a solid eye for detail, and enthusiasm for learning garment construction and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant design field.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is required; familiarity with Photoshop is a plus.
• Strong visual design abilities, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Interest in licensed merchandise, character-based artwork, and apparel product development.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Eagerness to learn about garment construction, technical design, and apparel manufacturing.
• Previous experience preparing tech packs or working with apparel manufacturers is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Artwork & Graphic Development: design graphics, prints, and patterns for licensed apparel.
• Technical Documentation: prepare and maintain tech packs detailing placement, colors, measurements, materials, and construction.
• Product Design & Development: partner with teams to move concepts through production.
• Sample Evaluation: inspect samples for accuracy and color matching; provide feedback.
• Team & Vendor Coordination: work with merchandising, production, and overseas partners to align with approved designs.
• File & Specification Management: keep artwork files, tech packs, specs, and notes organized for ongoing development.
• Packaging Support: assist in creating packaging graphics and related technical docs.
