Job summary

Licensed Apparel Co. in New York, NY, seeks a Junior Graphic Designer to support the development of licensed sleepwear, loungewear, and intimate apparel for entertainment properties.

You will create original graphics using Illustrator, assist with tech packs and packaging specs, and collaborate with design, merchandising, and overseas partners to bring concepts to production. This is an entry-level role with growth opportunities in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Illustration, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop is a plus.
• Strong visual design abilities and attention to detail.
• Interest in licensed merchandise and apparel development.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Willingness to learn garment construction and manufacturing.
• Experience with tech packs or apparel manufacturers is beneficial but not required.
• Packaging design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Artwork & Graphic Development: Design original graphics for licensed apparel reflecting licensing requirements and brand standards.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare tech packs detailing artwork placement, color variations, measurements, materials, and construction requirements.
• Product Design & Development: Partner with design and merchandising teams to move products from concepts to final production.
• Sample Evaluation: Inspect samples for graphic accuracy, color matching, artwork positioning, and design compliance.
• Team & Vendor Coordination: Work with merchandising, production, and overseas manufacturing partners to ensure designs are produced as approved.
• File & Specification Management: Keep artwork files, tech packs, specs, and notes organized for ongoing development.
• Packaging Support: Assist in creating packaging graphics and related technical documentation.
