Family Promise of Spokane is hiring a Junior Grant Writer to join our Development team in Spokane, WA. This on-site role develops grant-writing skills through mentorship from our Development Director and experienced grant writer, with a clear growth path to independently manage larger proposals.

You'll spend most of your time researching foundations and drafting compelling proposals, while also supporting donor relations and fundraising events. This is a developmental role with real impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong writing and research abilities under deadlines.
• Curiosity, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Genuine desire for a career in nonprofit grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify grant opportunities across foundations, corporations, and government.
• Draft compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry for small-to-mid dollar opportunities.
• Gather supporting materials and budgets to ensure complete, on-time submissions.
• Maintain the grant calendar with deadlines, reports, and stewardship touchpoints.
• Draft compliance and impact reports showing funder outcomes.
