Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to support engineering and construction drawings. You will prepare cartographic displays using ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related software, while assisting with web-based mapping tools and dashboards to support client projects.

You will learn client standards, maintain drawing conventions, and assist in QA/QC across multiple GIS platforms, working in a team-focused environment with tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Basic GIS knowledge and cartographic understanding.
• Entry-level experience in GIS/CAD programs.
• Ability to work with Designers, Engineers, and GIS staff.
• Strong attention to QA/QC and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation.
• Create web-based mapping tools, dashboards, and webmaps.
• Maintain graphical features in client GIS systems (ArcFM, Intergraph FRAMME, Small World, G-Tech).
• Learn client construction standards and utility information systems.
• Develop and maintain drawing standards for company drawings.
• Prepare documentation and reports using MS Office and related tools.
• Assist with field data collection tools including GPS and post-processing.
• Support mapping and GIS applications by data gathering and posting work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
