Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to support Designers, Engineers, and GIS Management in producing cartographic drawings for electrical assets within a production team. You will perform mapping tasks using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related tools, and assist with ArcGIS Online web apps and dashboards.

The role emphasizes QA/QC, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with a driven team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associates degree preferred or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science or GIS Certification, or equivalent technical experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation, or other drawing packages.
Assist in creating web-based mapping tools (ArcGIS Online) webapps, webmaps, and dashboards.
Maintain and place graphical features in client GIS systems like ArcFM, Intergraph FRAMME, Small World, or G-Tech.
Develop knowledge of client construction standards and utility information systems.
Develop and maintain drawing standards (fonts, line weights, borders, naming).
Prepare documentation and reports using MS Word, Excel, Access, Fulcrum, Nitro Pro, and Adobe Acrobat.
Assist with field data collection tools and GPS post-processing.
Support maintenance and operation of client GIS applications by reporting and posting work.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
