Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking an entry-level GIS Technician to join a collaborative team in Marietta, GA. You will support engineers and designers by preparing drawings with ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD and Microstation, and by developing web-based mapping tools using ArcGIS Online.

You will maintain GIS features in client systems, follow drawing standards, and assist with QA/QC and project tracking using MS Office and related software.

Qualifications

• Basic level knowledge of GIS programs and spatial concepts.
• Ability to create cartographic displays to support drawings.
• Willingness to work with a production team under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings using ESRI ArcMap/ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Microstation or other packages.
• Assist in creating web-based mapping tools and dashboards for clients and internal use.
• Maintain graphical features in client GIS systems such as ArcFM, Small World or related systems.
• Develop drawing standards and participate in QA/QC processes.
• Document and prepare reports using MS Office and related tools.
• Assist with field data collection tools and GPS data post-processing.
• Support mapping applications by gathering and inputting data as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
