Job summary

Unissant, Inc. in Ashburn, VA is seeking a Junior Full Stack Developer to support modernization of mission‑critical systems and AI/ML‑enabled capabilities for federal customers.

This is an onsite role with no hybrid option; candidates may require security clearance. You will work with Angular/React frontend and Java/Python backend, build RESTful APIs, participate in Agile ceremonies, and learn system architecture, DevOps, and ML deployment practices.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of hands-on software development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
• Strong OO programming, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience building RESTful services or microservices.
• Frontend development with a JS framework (Angular/React/Vue), plus HTML/CSS.
• Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL and basic schema design.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, testing, and issue tracking.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in an Agile team.
• AI/ML exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enhance features in cloud-based apps using frontend frameworks and backend services under supervision.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services with Spring Boot, .NET, or equivalent.
• Support and improve existing applications, including bug fixes and performance tuning.
• Write clean, documented code following standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with product owners, designers, users, data/ML teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting across stack.
• Assist with AI/ML initiatives by integrating services and instrument apps.
• Help data/ML engineers with data prep tasks.
