Job summary

Mission Recruit is hiring a Software Engineer for our government client to design, build, and support modern, intelligent applications for federal retirement systems. This role blends full stack web development with hands-on AI/ML work, delivering secure APIs, data pipelines, and explainable AI in a regulated environment.

Onsite opportunities in Macon, GA; Washington, DC; and Kansas City, KS. You will tackle modular UI in React/Vue, APIs in ASP.NET Core or Java Spring, and ML model deployment,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience designing modular, scalable web applications
• Hands-on AI/ML development and deployment experience
• Familiarity with enterprise integration using REST/SOAP
• Experience in Agile development environments

Responsibilities

• Build modular, responsive web applications in React and/or Vue.js
• Design secure, scalable APIs using ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, or Java Spring
• Integrate with enterprise systems via SOAP and REST APIs
• Optimize SQL Server performance and data access using EF Core
• Develop AI/ML features, LLM integrations, and data pipelines
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and release planning
