Job summary

Skechers, headquartered in Southern California, seeks a Jr. Footwear Designer to advance the next generation of performance footwear. You will translate fashion trends into innovative concepts and CADs, collaborating with Design Management and Development to hit target costs.

Responsibilities include creating accurate CADS, building seasonal trend boards, and coordinating with Merchandisers and developers in the US and Asia to ensure timely development of materials, constructions, and prototypes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Footwear Design/Fashion Design/Industrial Design preferred or equivalent related work experience.
• 1–2 years experience in the related field.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative and stylish footwear design concepts.
• Collaborate with Design Management and Development to build product to target cost.
• Understand fashion trends through travel, markets, tradeshows, and competition research.
• Create accurate CADS quickly and efficiently.
• Present seasonal product strategies and trend boards.
• Coordinate with Merchandisers on product line plans, color, pricing, and themes.
• Work with developers in US and Asia to meet the product calendar.
• Develop new materials, constructions, processes, and procedures.
• Ensure prototypes reflect concepts and designs.
• Keep aware of competitors and pricing strategies.
