Job summary

Skechers, the Comfort Technology Company™, is seeking a Footwear Designer to drive the next generations of Skechers USA footwear. You will blend fashion trends, market conditions, and manufacturing insights with design excellence to deliver on-trend products across a diverse demographic.

You will collaborate with marketing and sales to maximize market relevance, create CADs, tech packs, and seasonal strategies, and travel to Asia for development follow-up.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or Graphic Design.
• 4–6 years of progressive shoe design experience and knowledge of shoe constructions and materials.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative and affordable footwear design concepts.
• Collaborate with design management, development and marketing to maximize effectiveness and hit target costs.
• Study fashion trends through travel, market visits, and competition analysis.
• Create accurate CADs quickly and efficiently.
• Build and present seasonal product strategies and trend boards.
• Develop accurate tech packs for outsole and upper designs.
• Read blueprints and draw cross sections accurately.
• Coordinate with merchandisers on product plans, colors, pricing and themes.
• Work with US/Asia developers on line schedules and calendars.
• Develop new materials, constructions, and processes with materials team.
• Oversee prototypes and samples to reflect concepts.
